The results of the third NOI-Gallup National Poll were released November 20, 2008 at a well attended event in Lagos. Former Governor of Cross River State, Mr. Donald Duke presented the results to the media and the public. Also present at the occasion were Dr Robert Tortora, Chief Methodologist of Gallup. The NOI Polls team led by CEO, Mr. Ndubisi Anyanwu hosted the event.

Like previous ones, the third NOI-Gallup Poll surveyed citizens’ views, attitudes, and perceptions on a variety of social and economic issues such as governance, management of the economy, and the performance of government and private sector institutions.

Some of the questions which respondents in the national poll were asked include:

1. How many Nigerians have bank accounts? What services are most important to them?
2. How many Nigerians have mobile phones?
3. How secure do Nigerians feel?
4. How much corruption exists in government and businesses compared to previous years?
5. What do Nigerians think about obesity, fast foods and the NAFDAC seal of approval?

The findings from the survey, like those from our previous polls, have produced valuable information and insights on the feelings and attitudes of Nigerians on some of the key issues of the day.

The findings, as Mr Duke emphasized at the public presentation, provide valuable material for decision makers in the public and private sectors in their quest to improve performance and good governance in their various areas.
